The Flo – Buffalo NY Float Center FAQ
Here is a few of our frequently asked questions. If you don’t find what you’re looking for here feel free to call us by going to the contact page or reach out to us on facebook. We are more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Do you change the water after each person?
The short answer is no. But that doesn’t mean the water isn’t vigorously filtered after each customer so it’s completely clean for the next. The tanks are equipped with a state of the art filtration system that filters the water at 100 gallons per minute for 10 minutes after each session. There are two 30,000 gallon pool filters with different size micron cartridges, a UV filter, and a OZONE generator that help with the process.
Our tanks are the only tanks commercially rated by the government with a UL and NSF certification. More info on our tanks.
How long are the sessions?
We are regularly offering 90-minute and 60-minute sessions. However, we will entertain longer sessions upon request of up to 4 hours. It is recommended that for first-time floaters that you utilize the 90-minute session as it will take you a little longer to initially get situated inside the therapy tanks.
Can two people go into one tank?
No. But we do offer couple sessions where each person is in their own tank. What if
What if I suffer from claustrophobia?
Our Sensory Deprivation tanks are not small, measuring 8′ long by 5′ wide by 7′ high. Yes, that’s right you can stand up in the tanks, unlike other clam shell design float tanks. Also once you are situated in the tank you cannot really tell how large the tank is because of how dark it is. We have had several customers who suffer from severe claustrophobia float and after their session said it wasn’t a big deal.
What can I expect as a first-time floater?
We have a page dedicated to first-time customers so that everyone knows what to expect. In addition one of our friendly staff members will be happy to answer any questions or address and concerns that you may have prior to your session.
